Currently in the Markham-Stoufville riding in which I reside , politicans are vying for the right to represent our riding in Provincial Parliament. Michael Chan the incumbent is fighting to maintain the post he has occupied since 2007. On September 13th ,however, him and other Liberals from York Region vying for position in provincial parliament, took a break from the campaign trail to announce all GO trains in the province will run two ways 24/7. Traffic congestion cost the GTA 6 billion a year, and it could be more if it continues to go unchecked. These new 24/7 two way Go trains along with the 15 minutes late equals a money back guarantee policy will increase interest in public transit and help address the traffic congestion issue. Michael Chan states that the Conservatives made cuts to the transit system when in power, and the Hudak government plans to make further cuts, something that people living in York Region, just can't afford.
Despite the fact, that I don't use public transit extensively these new changes affect my day to day life. Increasing interest in public transit through improvements to the system will keep people of the roads, as a result reducing traffic in York Region. Making it easier to drive without experiencing ridiculous traffic not only saves time but also saves money. The fact that the incumbent in my riding is involved with this very civilian friendly deal would help swing my alliance in the MPP election in my Markham- Stoufville riding, from Conservative to Liberal.

8 Children Abducted by Mother, Police Say
Eight. Thats the number of kids that Shanel Nadal, the children's 28 year old mother, abducted from foster care in the Queens area. The article reads that the eight children, whom had been divided among three foster homes, had been brought to the Forestdale child agency in Forest Hill for a visit with their mother. Things began to complicate as the mother took her children with when she left Forestdale at 4pm. The Administration for Children's services has been working closely with the police and currently have an arrest warrant out for Shanel as well as the children's father Nephra Payne, 34. This couple reportedly lives in the Manhattanville section of Manhattan, but the people who live in their supposed residence have no memory of the couple. If you see a black 1996 Chevrolet Suburban in the Manhattan or Queens area please all the cops.
This article affects me greatly due to the fact that the of the eight children, the oldest is just 11 and the youngest 11 months old. The parents have to take the kids well being into consideration, on the road, running from the police, is no place for a child who hasn't even lived a year of their life. The selfishness of this act is overwhelming as it is harmful to the children's well being. Shanel Nadal and Nephra Payne, if you really think your parents, do what's best for the kids, return them to their foster homes, and turn yourselves in.

Obama's Debt Plan Class Warfare: Republicans
Take from the rich, give to the poor? That's how the Republicans view President Barrack Obama's new Debt Plan. This article discusses President's Obama's tax plan and how he plans to cut America's debt by 3 trillion dollars over the next decade. The problem is that this plan to cut America's debt by 3 trillion includes a 1.5 million dollar tax hike ,of which the majority is coming from the "Buffett Rule" which would bring a minimum income tax rate on Americans making over 1 million. This new plan of Obama has met strong Republican resistance, with them stating that this is "class warfare". Obama however, refuses to back down stating that "the money has to come from somewhere.", and even going as far as to say he would veto any "one-sided legislation" by Congress that does not result in tax increase on the rich. Obama also took measures to eliminate George W. Bush's existing tax cuts on those with $250,000 or more. Obama's speech is the catalyst for a new rounds of discussion and negotiation in Washington as they try to reduce the U.S deficit as mandated by the debt ceiling bill, which resulted in an agreement in 1.2 trillion in savings, and a requirement to find 2.4 trillion dollars of deficit reduction before the end of November .
In my opinion, the Republican's have done everything in their power to resist the majority of Barrack Obama's legislation, resulting in less change for the better and longer fights in parliament. While what the Republican's are doing might be clever from the standpoint of the 2012 election, it has severly hurt the American economy, and society. My viewpoint on this is simple, the Republic's need to stop trying to win, because while in may result in a future political victory, currently, everybody loses.
