In my opinion, the Republican's have done everything in their power to resist the majority of Barrack Obama's legislation, resulting in less change for the better and longer fights in parliament. While what the Republican's are doing might be clever from the standpoint of the 2012 election, it has severly hurt the American economy, and society. My viewpoint on this is simple, the Republic's need to stop trying to win, because while in may result in a future political victory, currently, everybody loses.

Obama's Debt Plan Class Warfare: Republicans
Take from the rich, give to the poor? That's how the Republicans view President Barrack Obama's new Debt Plan. This article discusses President's Obama's tax plan and how he plans to cut America's debt by 3 trillion dollars over the next decade. The problem is that this plan to cut America's debt by 3 trillion includes a 1.5 million dollar tax hike ,of which the majority is coming from the "Buffett Rule" which would bring a minimum income tax rate on Americans making over 1 million. This new plan of Obama has met strong Republican resistance, with them stating that this is "class warfare". Obama however, refuses to back down stating that "the money has to come from somewhere.", and even going as far as to say he would veto any "one-sided legislation" by Congress that does not result in tax increase on the rich. Obama also took measures to eliminate George W. Bush's existing tax cuts on those with $250,000 or more. Obama's speech is the catalyst for a new rounds of discussion and negotiation in Washington as they try to reduce the U.S deficit as mandated by the debt ceiling bill, which resulted in an agreement in 1.2 trillion in savings, and a requirement to find 2.4 trillion dollars of deficit reduction before the end of November .
